Vino's Rehearsal Dinner

Jim and I headed out early on Thurday morning for lovely Las Vegas. The trip was smooth, except for the lovely speeding ticket we got on the way out :/ Boooo!

We finally got to Vegas around 2pm and after checking in, made our way to the pool area. Vino, Spurs, Dressing Queen and her parents were already there and they invited us to have lunch with them. The company was great, but the food service left a bit to be desired. By the time we got our food and finished eating, it was time to get to the rehearsal. Since we had a few hours after the rehearsal before dinner, we all went in our grubby clothes and put off getting pretty for a bit.

The rehearsal took place at Reflection Bay at Lake Las Vegas around 4pm and it went smoothly.

After the rehearsal, it was back to the Lowe's hotel, to get ready for dinner. Blondie and I decided that since we were wearing the same dress for the wedding (while Dressing Queen and Spurs little sister wore something different), we might as well be twins for the whole weekend.

As I've said before, Vino and Spurs are a fun, laid back couple and their rehearsal dinner definitely reflected those qualities. Dinner was held on an outdoor patio with various food stations for everyone to nosh on.

The food was delicious! The mashed potato bar was easily my favorite because I'm a carbaholic, but everything was really wonderful. And of course, it was all gluten-free, but you'd never have known based on the quality and taste of the food.

However, us girls seemed too busy chatting and taking pictures to eat much. I'm sure you'd be shocked to know the guys didn't seem to have that problem.

The bride and groom stopped by the table to say hello and take a quick picture. Aren't they cute?

A friend from college, who I haven't seen since we graduated, was there with her boyfriend and it was great getting to see her again and being able to catch up. I was shocked to learn that she now owns a bakery that specializes in cupcakes!!! Anybody up for a road trip to Wisconsin?

Toward the end of the evening, Spurs' parents gave a couple of great speeches/toasts to the happy couple. Very sweet.

The rest of the night was spent hanging out and just enjoying the gorgeous evening.

Instead of ending the night after dinner, Blondie, Sporty and I, along with the husbands, took the shuttle over to a local casino. No one won much, but it was a fun way to cap off the night. We even found a couple of fun vehicles to serve as props for more pics.
